  1. This is only a Beta release. Version 1.00 will not support Sound Blaster DAC
  2. emulation. This is planned for version 1.10.

  4. The registration fee is now lower than with previous versions of Mega-Em.
  5. See REGISTER.DOC for details on registering.

  7. I will appreciate any reports of bugs, incompatibilities, spelling errors,
  8. incomprehensible sections of the documentation, (practical) suggestions etc.

  10. Currently known problems that should be fixed for the version 1.00 release
  11. are:

  13. * Does not work with 386MAX memory manager. Also has not been tested with
  14.   Netroom, Memory Commander or MICEMM. Has been tested successfully with
  15.   QEMM, Microsoft EMM386.EXE and Digital Research EMM386.
  16.  
  17. * All known incompatibility problems are listed in section 5 of MEGAEM.DOC.
  18.   Please have a quick look there before reporting an incompatibility.

  24. Welcome to Mega-Em. Mega-Em is a Roland sound device emulator for your
  25. Gravis Ultrasound Card.
  26.  
  27. Please read section 1. of the users manual (MEGAEM.DOC).
  28. It is recommended you read through the manual before you use Mega-Em.
  29.  
  30. Quick notes: You must run MEGAEM.EXE, then EMUSET.EXE before any
  31.              emulation is active.
  32.  
  33.              Always run EMUSET between programs. This will reset Mega-Em
  34.              internally. Many games require the MT-32 to be in a power
  35.              on state to work correctly.
  36.  
  37.              Remove any debuggers from memory before loading Mega-Em.
  38.  
  39.              Mega-Em is shareware. Unregistered Mega-Em will only produce
  40.              sound output for 10 minutes after it is loaded. You will
  41.              have to uninstall Mega-Em from memory, then reload it if you
  42.              wish to use it again. See REGISTER.DOC for details on
  43.              registering.

  45.              Unregistered Mega-Em is slightly slower that the registered
  46.              form, due to the overhead required to regularly check the system
  47.              time.
