└───────────────┘
INTRODUCTION:
Welcome to the wonderful world of personal finance under OS/2 2.x. SM Money is
the first and only personal finance program designed specifically for OS/2 2.x.
I hope you find using SM Money easy and fun. More over, I hope you find that
SM Money is useful.
FEATURES:
SM Money makes use of many of OS/2 2.x's special features and capabilities and
is fully 32-bit for speed. SM Money makes it easy to manage your checking and
savings accounts because you already know how SM Money works: SM Money works
from a checkbook metaphor, and has a register that looks just like your
checkbooks check register! It is easy to add, modify, and delete transactions
(records) through pull-down menus or a convenient pop-up context menu. The
context menu deserves special recognition: As an OS/2 user you are aware
that OS/2 itself doesn't have a menu bar, but instead has a menu that is
displayed whenever you click the right mouse button anywhere on the background.
This menu is called a context menu. SM Money has a similar context menu: click
the right moust button anywhere in the check register and up pops a menu of
frequently used commands. SM Money also has a special reconcile mode that
makes reconciling your checkbook with your bank statement easy. SM Money also
has extensive on-line help that is very easy to use. In fact, all of the
documentation is included in the on-line help. If you ever have a question on
how SM Money works, just turn to the on-line help available through the help
menu. SM Money also creates and updates SMMONEY.INI which keeps track of
important program informatin like the last screen position and last open
file. SM Money then reads in the .INI file information at startup, loading the
last open file and starting in the last screen position. This is a convenient
feature: because most people only work with one checking account, you rarely
have to use the OPEN command from the file menu--SM Money starts with your
checking account already open.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
The archive or disk containing this file should have these files in it:
SMMONEY.EXE (Executable)
SMMONEY.HLP (On-line help)
ORDER.FRM (Order form)
README.NOW (This file)
SM Money needs no installation, simply type SMMONEY. It is recommended that
the above files (or just SMMONEY.EXE & SMMONEY.HLP) are kept together in
their own directory. SMMONEY.EXE and SMMONEY.HLP are the only two files
necessary for operation.
HOW TO ORDER:
SM Money is SHAREWARE. As such, if you continue to use SM Money after 30 days
then you are obligated to register (order) SM Money. Registration is only $20
and brings you:
* A clear-conscience. Continuing to use SM Money and NOT registering would be
wrong and illegal--you don't want that on your conscience, so register!
* Your name in the product info dialog box where UNREGISTERED currently appears.
* One FREE upgrade!
* Notices of upgrades.
* Future upgrades and new versions at a reduced price.
Shareware is a great thing, but without your support shareware developers don't
have an incentive to continue developing quality shareware programs. If you
like and/or use SM Money, please consider registering SM Money--it is the right
thing to do.
All bug reports, ideas for improvements, and technical support questions should
be directed to Scott Mosier or Steve Mathesius.

to-earth suggestions that made this program useable.

IBM Thanks for creating and supporting the ultimate operating
system, even when the world didn't think it was worth it.

Microsoft Thanks for creating a pathetic VGA graphics demo and
menuing system that is no match for OS/2. (Windoze)
