║ BOEING B-737 ║
╚══════════════╝
My first B-737 built with AAF have Sabena and Lufthansa liveries (B-737-SA and
B-737-LH). Both were made in early 1993 and both are 737-200.
Looking for new liveries for this aircraft, I took the opportunity to upgrade
and modify some parts or components, and build the major versions of the 737.
Finally, I constructed the whole versions of the 737 (except the 737-100 ver-
sion, which never flew under french livery - length 28.65 m, JT-8D engines).
BOEING B-737-200
══════════════════
With a minimum of modifications (or rather corrections) of my first 737, I
realized a more accurate version of the 737-200 (length 30.48 m, JT-8D engines)
1 114 of them were built, in many variants, including a military one, until
1988.
Its features are the following:
- first flight: february 1971
- first delivery: june 1971
- first company: Nippon Airlines
- main using companies: Lufthansa, Southwest,...
- max. takeoff weight: 53 T
- max. landing weight: 47.6 T
- length: 30.5 m
- height: 11.2 m
- wing span: 28.3 m
- wing surface: 92 m²
- fuel capacity: 19 500 l
- max. payload: 15.3 T
- fuselage diameter: 3.74 m
- loading volume: 25 m3
- engines: 2 Pratt & Whittney JT8-DI5A
- 15 500 lbs each
- takeoff distance: 2 100 m
- landing distance: 1 450 m
- maximum cruise ceiling: 12 000 m
- cruise speed / mach: 810 Km/h - 0.76 Mach
- places: 102 - 130
The Boeing 737-200 for Flight Simulator:
I realized only one decoration of the new B-737-200.
■ Boeing B-737-200 - INTER CARGO SERVICE
──────────────────────────────────────────
ICS was a cargo branch of Air France. Since in 1991 Air France took the
control of UTA and Air Inter, some subsidiary companies have diasppeared.
So ICS does'nt exist any more and its aircraft have now the markings of
the "Aéropostale".
A color photography of an ICS Boeing 737-200 was published in the number
257 (april 1991 issue) of the Fana de l'Aviation (page 58). This photography
was my model in building my ICS 737-200.
It is composed by 181 parts. Its complex livery needed many parts. There
are working flaps.
BOEING B-737-300
══════════════════
The B-737-300 is a stretched version (33.40 m) of the 737-200. It is built
since 1984. This version carries more passengers and freight, and is motori-
zed with General Electric - SNECMA CFM-56 engines.
This version has a "all electronic" cockpit.
The features of this version are the following:
- first flight: march 1984
- first delivery: december 1984
- first company: US Air
- main using companies: Southwest, Piemont,...
- maximum takeoff weight: 56.4 T
- maximum landing weight: 51.2 T
- length: 33.4 m
- height: 11.2 m
- wing span: 28.9 m
- wing surface: 92 m²
- fuel capacity: 20 200 l
- maximum payload: 15.4 T
- fuselage diameter: 3.78 m
- loading volume: 30 m3
- engines: 2 General Electric - SNECMA CFM56-3
- 20 000 lbs each
- takeoff distance: 1 900 m
- landing distance: 1 420 m
- maximum cruise ceiling: 12 000 m
- cruise speed / mach: 830 Km/h - 0.78
- places: 128 - 152
The Boeing B-737-300 for flight simulator:
Starting from the new 737-200 mentionned above, and after modifying and cor-
recting some parts (stretching the fuselage, drawing emergency exits, rectifi-
cation of nose, front gear door, cockpit, and last but not least, drawing new
engines) I obtained an accurate model of the 737-300.
I realized four different decorations of this version:
■ B-737-300 - AIR INTER
─────────────────────────
This version includes 173 parts. It has the same working parts as the above
mentionned 737-200. In spite of many tests, I could not prevent the large
blue tail band to disappear when the aircraft is viewed from the front.
It is to be noted that the livery is similar to the one of the ICS 737-200,
because ICS is the freight subsidiary company of Air Inter.
These planes ensure innner french flights between Paris and Strasbourg, or
between Paris and Marseille (spring 1993).
■ B-737-300 - EUROPE AERO SERVICE
───────────────────────────────────
The choosed livery is one carried by an aircraft of the Aéromaritime
company, chartered by Europe Aero Service. A color photography of this
aircraft was published in the april 1991 issue (Nr 257) of the Fana de
l'Aviation (page 58). This photography was my pattern.
The EUROPE AERO SERVICE aircraft is composed of 167 parts. It also has
working flaps.
■ B-737-300 - CORSE AIR
─────────────────────────
The CORSE AIR aircraft requested a whole day hard work for its livery.
A color photography of this plane was published in the june 1987 issue
(Nr 211) of the Fana de l'Aviation (page 57). This photography was my
model. Only the lower red engine side bands are not reproduced.
So, some parts are still working.
The aircraft is composed of 181 parts.
■ B-737-300 - LUXAIR
──────────────────────
This plane is made with 165 parts, working flaps included. A black and
white photography, published in a newspaper, served as model.
BOEING B-737-400
══════════════════
Built since 1988, the 737-400 is a stretched 737-300 (36.40 m) and fit out
with GE-SNECMA CFM-56 engines.
The main features of the 737-400 are:
- length: 36.4 m
- height: 11.2 m
- winb span: 28.9 m
- wing surface: 92 m²
- fuel capacity: 20 200 l
- maximum payload: 15.4 T
- fuselage diameter: 3.78 m
- loading volume: 30 m3
- engines: 2 General Electric - SNECMA CFM56-3
- 20 000 lbs each
The BOEING B-737-400 for Flight Simulator:
Like the real plane, the stretching of the fuselage, and the moving of some
parts, allowed me to obtain a 737-400.
I painted my 737-400 in two different liveries:
■ B-737-400 - AEROMARITIME
────────────────────────────
Aeromaritime is a charter subsidiary company of UTA. This company is the
only french user of the 737-400. The Fana de l'Aviation published, in its
april 1991 issue (Nr 257 - page 58), a color photography of this aircraft.
My 737-400 is composed with 171 parts and has working flaps.
In spite of all my efforts, the green rear doors, upon the dark blue tail,
do'nt correctly appear.
■ B-737-400 - BRITISH AIRWAYS
───────────────────────────────
British Airways uses 737-400 on flights such Paris-London (spring 1993).
The aircraft wears the caracteristic British Airways livery, with, however,
some reservations. The painting of upper or lower fuselage halves does'nt
give very good results. These problems were noted by other designers too,
like J.F. Hilden. So, like the latter on his BA 757, I colored only the
lower sides of my 737-400 in dark blue. This cheating is quite invisible
with a normal angle of vue.
My BA 737-400 is composed of 181 parts. The British Crown emblem on the
tail costed a lot of parts. So, a few working parts had to disappear.
BOEING B-737-500
══════════════════
The 737-500 is, in fact, a short 737 (737-200 - length 31 m) but provided with
the modern equipments of the 737-300, inclusive of the CFM-56 GE-SNECMA engi-
nes.
The main features of the B-737-500 are:
- length: 30.5 m
- height: 11.2 m
- wing span: 28.9 m
- wing surface: 92 m²
- fuel capacity: 19 500 l
- maximul payload: 15.3 T
- fuselage diameter: 3.74 m
- loading volume: 25 m3
- engines: 2 General Electric - SNECMA CFM56-3
- 20 000 lbs each
- places: 102 - 130
The Boeing B-737-500 for Flight Simulator:
Picking up the 737-200 again, and replacing the engines, I obtained the 737-
500.
My 737-500 is wearing three different liveries:
■ B-737-500 - AIR FRANCE
──────────────────────────
Air France uses, in addition of 737-200, 737-500's for flights like Paris
-Berlin, Paris-Zürich, Paris-Hamburg, Paris-München, Paris-Frankfurt, etc.
(spring 1993). My 737-500 includes 160 parts with some working parts.
■ B-737-500 - AIR CHARTER
───────────────────────────
Air Charter is a subsidiary company of Air France. The Fana de l'Aviation
published in its april 1991 issue (Nr 257 - page 58) a color photography
of the real aircraft, which served me as model.
In fact, it is a aircraft of the Europe Aero Service (EAS) company, char-
tered by Air Charter.
The plane is composed of 164 parts, including some working parts.
■ B-737-500 - AEROPOSTALE
───────────────────────────
The AEROPOSTALE (mail) uses 737-500 for its night flights between the major
cities of France. A found poor color photography of this aircraft in the
summer 1993 issue of the Air Inter timetable. According to this photography
I added a cargo door on the left fuselage side. The aircraft is composed of
157 parts, included some working elements.
The .SIM file, common to all 737's, was picked up from another aircraft, after
long and unfruitfull tests.
