- IMPORTANT!
-
- 6 & 8-channel songs require a large amount of memory,if you hav'nt
- enough memory fitted to this Amy,the song might lock up whilst playing.
-
- To free some memory, do the following: ( it might help )
-
- Click on the MISC panel and then click on DEP2 and LOADGFX and then
- return to the PLAY panel. ( you could also turn off wb )
-
- This will free up some of your memory, however,if the song still locks,
- it is likely you need more memory to use this facility.

- This file contains important information, so please read it carefully
- before doing anything else.
-
- OctaMED is a music editor, which was originally designed for making music
- for programs (demos, games etc..), but it works well as a stand-alone music
- program, too.
-
- OctaMED needs Kickstart 1.2 or later, is compatible with AmigaDOS 2.0, runs
- on any Amiga from A500 to A3000, and multitasks correctly (even in
- eight channel mode, with lots of memory though!).
-
- Here are the contents of the complete OctaMED distribution disk:
-
- Modules (dir) demo songs
- Docs (dir) Some documents
- Programmers (dir) info for programmers
- OctaMED The music editor
- OctaMEDPlayer The player program (new V5.10)
- ReadMe This file..
-
- The icons were designed to have a nice 2.0-look. If you are using WB 1.x,
- the icon colours look inversed.
-
- First you should make a backup copy of your original OctaMED disk, and save
- the original in safe place. If you want to install OctaMED on a hard disk,
- you have to remember to copy the graphic files ( OctaMED.gfx1 etc ) with it.
- These files contain some graphics data required by OctaMED, and they must be
- in the current directory when you run OctaMED. If WB is used, just make
- sure that OctaMED and the files are located in the same drawer. From CLI /
- Shell, you have to 'CD' to the directory where all the files are before
- starting OctaMED.
-
- By default OctaMED requires 'powerpacker.library' (distributed on this disk).
