  6. listed below are contained in the distribution.

  8. All of the files contained in this package were written by, and are the
  9. sole property of George Tatge, with the exception of the .DLL and .VBX
  10. files which are distributed in accordance with license agreements with
  11. either Microsoft Corporation or Crescent Software, Inc.  There are no files 
  12. contained in this package which may not be legally redistributed.  All
  13. trademarks, and registered trademarks are the property of their 
  14. respective owners.

  17. General Information
  18.  
  19. Global Abbreviations 1.5 has been vigorously tested for three months by
  20. more than 20 testers in more than 10 countries.  As of this writing, there
  21. are ZERO known bugs.

  23. The original zip file was scanned with both PC Tools 2.0 virus scanner
  24. and the McAffee virus scanner (not the most recent version).
  25.  
  26. Global Abbreviations is designed to run on Windows 3.1.  While some
  27. testers have used it on "compatible" environments such as OS/2 2.1 and
  28. WFWG 3.11, I have not tested it enough to say that it works completely
  29. on any system other than Windows 3.1

  31. Global Abbreviations does NOT make any changes to any files on the 
  32. user's system, either during installation or execution.  The installation
  33. program will replace older versions of the same VBX or DLL files if
  34. the information obtained via ver.dll indicates they are older.  All VBX and 
  35. DLL files contained in this package are unmodified copies of the most
  36. recent versions available from Microsoft or Crescent Software at the 
  37. time the package was put together.

  39. Global Abbreviations has an uninstall feature to help the user remove
  40. the program from their system.  The uninstaller will remove files that
  41. it safely can, and offer to print a list of those it cannot (eg. VBX and
  42. DLL files which may be required by other programs).
  43.  
  44. The registration theory used in Global Abbreviations is that of "increasing
  45. nags."  The program never becomes crippled, but after the 45 day trial 
  46. period- the startup nag screen will pause for longer and longer periods.
  47. The operating philosophy is that most people are honest and will eventually
  48. register.  The increasing delay in the nag is intended to motivate the
  49. honest user to finally get around to spending the few minutes required
  50. to send in their registration.  I hope that this does not offend anybody
  51. and is accepted at face value as a legitimate motivational mechanism.
