  8. NLREG performs linear and nonlinear statistical regression analysis.
  9. NLREG determines the values of parameters for an equation, whose form
  10. you specify, that cause the equation to best fit a set of data values.
  11. NLREG can handle linear, multivariate, polynomial, logistic, and
  12. general nonlinear equations. You specify the form of the equation
  13. using normal algebraic notation. NLREG includes a rich set of
  14. built-in library functions such as trig, probability, exponential,
  15. log, Bessel, etc. that you can use in the equation being fitted to the
  16. data.

  18. For advanced applications, NLREG includes a programming language that
  19. can be used to describe a general mathematical model to be fitted
  20. to the data.  This language has a syntax like C and includes conditionals,
  21. looping, and arrays.

  23. In addition to fitting the equation to the data, NLREG determines a
  24. variety of statistics including confidence intervals, t and F
  25. statistics, and Durbin-Watson test for autocorrelation. NLREG can
  26. also plot the data and fitted equation.

  28. NLREG includes a 65 page manual that explains regression analysis and
  29. gives many examples.

  32. available.  It is in use at many labs and universities around the
  33. world.
