  10. This is a functional demo version of a program for printing images on the
  11. Alps MD-2300 Masterpiece printer using its photographic quality (dye-sub)
  12. mode.

  14. The Alps MD-2300 Masterpiece printer is a low cost combination dry ink and
  15. dye-sub printer. (The so-called "inks" are actually ribbon cartridges.) In
  16. dye-sub mode, using the special photographic ink cartridges, it is capable
  17. of near continuous tone photographic quality printing, which makes it one
  18. of the lowest cost printers in this category. Until now, there have been
  19. no print drivers available to utilize the photographic quality mode with the
  20. Amiga.

  22. PhotoPrint is not a true print driver, as it does not link into
  23. the operating system to be called by other programs.  Rather, it is a
  24. program which allows one to select an image file, resize and position it
  25. on the page, and print it.  I wanted to get it working as soon as possible
  26. and concentrated solely on that problem, so I made no attempt to reinvent
  27. other software tools which are readily available and do those jobs better
  28. than I could duplicate.  Any color balancing, image rotation, contrast
  29. adjustment, etc. must first be done in an image processing program of your
  30. choice.  The image must then be saved in raw red, green and blue files, or
  31. "Sculpt" format. Programs such as ImageFX or ADPro will save in this
  32. format.

  34. Printing is done directly from disk file to the printer or to another file,
  35. if desired.

  37. The demo version is limited to printing on 4x6" paper stock. For the full
  38. version, capable of printing on 8.5x11" paper, send $15 (U.S.) check or
