  43. INSTALLATION
  44. ------------
  45. a) From Supplied Disk: Run SETUP on the installation floppy disk from 
  46. Windows.
  47.  
  48. b) From ZIP File: UnZIP to a subdirectory such as HEBCAL. Install 
  49. HEBCALW.EXE in a Windows program group. You must have VBRUN300.DLL in your 
  50. Windows System subdirectory to run HEBREW CALENDAR. If you don't have this 
  51. run-time library, it is probably available from the same source where you 
  52. acquired HEBREW CALENDAR.
  53.  
  54. If you have registered, enter your name and ID number EXACTLY as received
  55. on the Information & Registration selection on the Main Menu. SAVE A COPY OF
  56. YOUR ID NUMBER!!!!! If you lose it, contact the Calendar Maven.
  57.  
  58. INSTALLATION PROBLEMS
  59. ---------------------
  60. ID Number Not Recognized as Valid - Your registered name and number must be
  61. entered exactly as received. This includes spaces, punctuation, and any 
  62. ampersands.
  63.  
  64. DDEML.DLL Cannot Be Installed - Ignore and continue with installation.
  65.  
  66. Setup Cannot Install Some Files - May be related to VER.DLL in your Windows
  67. System subdirectory. Rename it VER.DL_ and run Setup again.
  68.  
  69. Colors Are Wrong - May be related to THREED.VBX. If this file is in your
  70. Hebrew Calendar subdirectory, try copying it to your Windows System
  71. subdirectory.
  72.  
  73. COMMDLG.DLL Warning - This file is being used by another and probably
  74. non-obvious program. Enter IGNORE.
  75.  
  76. Setup Fails To Complete Installation - Do not use Setup for installation. 
  77. Uncompress all files on the distribution disk using Windows EXPAND.EXE. Do
  78. not use the DOS version of this program. From DOS, not Windows, use these
  79. commands from the DOS prompt:
  80.    Step 1:       md c:\hebcal
  81.    Step 2:       c:\windows\expand -r a:*.??_ c:\hebcal
  82. This assumes your Windows directory is c:\windows, your distribution disk is
  83. in drive a: and your are installing to the c:\hebcal directory.
  84.  
  85. THREED.VBX Needs Newer Version - Multiple versions of this library exist on
  86. your system. Track them down and replace with a single copy located in your
  87. Windows System subdirectory. HEBREW CALENDAR is compiled with Version 3.00,
  88. dated 7/16/93, 64432 bytes.
  89.  
  90. If problems persist, contact the Calendar Maven. DO NOT contact PsL, 
  91. Compuserve or anyone else.

  93. UPGRADING/UPDATING FROM PREVIOUS VERSIONS
  94. -----------------------------------------
  95. This version may be installed directly over previous versions since 7.0. If
  96. you are currently using an older version, delete all previous files or
  97. install to a new directory.
  98.  
  99. Starting with Version 7.0, the format of HEBCAL.CFG and CITIES.DAT was
  100. changed. Older format files will not work properly with newer versions of 
  101. HEBREW CALENDAR.
  102.  
  103. This version will not overwrite HEBCAL.CFG, PERSONAL.DAT, HEBCAL.TXT or
  104. HEBCAL.CRD.
  105.  
  106. UPGRADES AND UPDATES
  107. --------------------
  108. An "update" corrects bugs and problems or makes some minor program
  109. improvements. An "upgrade" represents the incorporation of major 
  110. improvements or features. 
  111.  
  112. New versions are regularly posted to America Online (AOL), Compuserve (CIS)
  113. and Internet. Look for filenames with format HBCL*.ZIP:

  124. HEBREW CALENDAR is distributed as shareware and may be copied and 
  125. distributed without fee other than for nominal distribution costs. The 
  126. distribution files must not be altered in anyway. You may give copies to 
  127. your friends and any other interested parties.

  129. The distribution of the intact, unaltered ZIP file is encouraged! Feel free
  130. to upload to your favorite BBS, online service, or Internet FTP.

  132. If registered, you may NOT give your personal ID number to anyone.

  136. As shareware, you can evaluate the program free of charge.  If you find 
  137. HEBREW CALENDAR useful and continue to use it, you must register and pay the
