NoteWorthy Composer 1.20, Notation Processor for Windows
A Shareware music composition and notation processor for Windows,
providing for the creation, play back, and printing of your own
musical scores. You can:
- Print your whole score (for a conductor's view), or just
the staves you select, in several font sizes
- Import and export standard MIDI files
- Use the computer keyboard or mouse for notation editing
- Selectively add or remove slurs, staccato, accents, beams,
triplets, and accidentals through tool bar buttons
- Use the included tools to automatically transpose, beam, and
arrange accidentals in your score staves to make them look
professional
- Create up to four lyric lines per staff
- Add various performance expressions, such as crescendos,
fermatas, breath marks, and accelerandos that are recognized
and peformed during play back.
You'll be composing, arranging, and printing in no time!
** New in This Version:
- Lyrics (up to 4 lyric lines per staff)
- Measure numbers, and a "Goto Measure" command
- Flexible Slurs (across bar lines, rests, repeats, etc.)
- Many new style expressions, including Fermatas, Breath Marks,
Cresc, Decresc., Accel, Legato, etc. (many of which are
supported by play back).
- Control of both MIDI key velocity and volume from the
Dynamics marks, and audio support for both of these in
Cresc. and Decresc. dynamic marks.
- Edit any existing notation or expression mark on a staff
- User control of note stem directions
- Chords composed of a note, or notes, and a smaller
duration rest
- A generic Text Expression item where you can add your
own text expressions
- All notation symbols now use True Type fonts, so you
have much more control over the size of a score
- A note beam inside of a triplet grouping
- Use the copy feature from Print Preview to create a
bitmap file for import into other applications (for
registered users only)
- Several GPF fixes and maintenance features

** Upgrade Instructions For Owners of Previous Versions:
Before installing this software, make sure you have your
registration codes from the certificate that was mailed to you.
You will need your codes to re-register your system for use
with NoteWorthy Composer after installing this new version.
We recommend that you retain your existing application files until
after you have successfully installed and used this new version.
By default, the setup procedure will install this new version in
a directory different from the default directories used in previous
versions of NoteWorthy Composer. Once you are satisfied with the
performance of this new version, you should go ahead and remove
the previous version, as described in its original help file. You
can review the file "WHATSNEW.WRI" if you want to find out what is
new in this release prior to installing it.
** Installation Instructions:
If you have received the NWC files in an archive such as a
ZIP file, extract the files into either a temp directory on your
hard drive, or onto a dedicated diskette.
Run the SETUP application that is contained in this directory
or diskette that you created. For example, if you extracted the
application files into a disk in drive A:, then from the Program
Manager you would select the Run command from the File menu, type
A:\SETUP and press enter.
Once SETUP starts executing, just follow the prompts. After the
install is complete, an on-line context sensitive help file can
guide you the rest of the way.
