  74. C. Program notes
  75. ----------------

  77. 1. To improve execution speed, WaveGen does not perform any stack
  78.    checking.  Sufficient resources must be available to run WaveGen.
  79.  
  80. 2. To uninstall, simply delete the WaveGen directory (default C:\WAVGEN11)
  81.    and delete the file WAVEGEN.INI in the default WINDOWS directory. No
  82.    other files will be effected.  If you have registered, make sure you
  83.    keep a copy of your registration notification which contains your user
  84.    ID and validation key.

  86. 3. WaveGen v1.1 has been successfully tested on Windows NT 3.5 and
  87.    Windows 95 beta.

  90. D. Known limitations
  91. --------------------
  92.  
  93. 1. Norton Desktop for Windows ver 3.0+
  94.    Using Delete or Rename from File Assist when in an open or
  95.    save dialog results in a general protection fault. Not quite
  96.    sure why this happens and have not been able to correct it.
  97.  
  98. 2. Slow execution when generating
  99.    Without a co-processor, a 386 or 486SX may take a long
  100.    time to generate waves. This is particularly so when creating
  101.    44khz/16 bit tone sequences. In these situations, use 8khz/8 bit
  102.    while experimenting, then use the higher resolution for your
  103.    final generation.

  105. 3. Slow video redraw
  106.    Some combinations of video cards/drivers and slower machines
  107.    may result in very slow redraws in the wave display window.
  108.    This also occurs if your disk drive is sluggish. Consider
  109.    a graphics accelerator card.
  110.  
  111. 4. Windows PCM (RIFF) file format
  112.    WaveGen can read only the simplest sub-set of the RIFF file
  113.    format. WaveGen will not read wave files with additional
  114.    info chunks, cue points, play lists, etc. To import these files,
  115.    use a wave editor to strip out these fields.
