  29. This package contains Cumberland Family Tree for Windows (Version 1.00),
  30. by Cumberland Family Software.  Detailed documentation is included in the
  31. package in the on-line HELP file, but it is in archived form, and is more
  32. easily read after installation.

  34. This program is a shareware program.  This evaluation version includes
  35. all features of the program.  You may use it for up to 45 days, without
  36. charge (see HELP screens for more details), after which certain
  37. non-essential features will be disabled. If you like the program, and
  38. wish to continue its use after this evaluation period, you are required
  39. to pay for the program.  Any fee you may have paid to others (disk
  40. vendors, dealers, etc.) to obtain this evaluation version was a fee for
  41. their copying and distribution services, rather than a payment for
  42. continued use of the program.

  45. ===== Installation =====================================

  47. The installation procedure for Cumberland Family Tree for Windows is
  48. quite simple.  The package includes a program which automates the entire
  49. process.  You will need about 5.5Mb of available disk space on the hard
  50. drive on which you plan to install the program.

  52. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received the
  53. package.

  55. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  56.  
  57. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  58.  
  59.    o  Place the distribution diskette in the appropriate diskette drive.
  60.  
  61.    o  Start Microsoft Windows.
  62.  
  63.    o  From Program Manager, select File menu and choose Run.
  64.  
  65.    o  Type "a:install" and press ENTER.
  66.  
  67.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.

  69. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE

  71. If you downloaded the program from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  72. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  73. following steps:

  75.    o  Create a sub-directory on your hard drive where you wish the
  76.    program to reside (such as C:\CFTREEW). Extract the contents of the
  77.    archive files to this sub-directory.

  79.    o  Start Microsoft Windows.

  81.    o From Program Manager, select File menu and choose Run.

  83.    o  Type "c:\cftreew\install" and press ENTER.
