  12. General notes:
  13.     -   This is a 'preview' release of TBAV 6.40, which will have a
  14.         completely new designed heuristic engine.
  15.         The actual reason for this preview release is that we added
  16.         detection for two currently quickly spreading viruses: NightFall
  17.         and ByWay.

  20. TbScan:
  21.     -   The heuristic engine has been redesigned! Detection rate has been
  22.         improved, while the false positive rate has been significantly
  23.         reduced. Without option 'heuristics' TbScan now detects about
  24.         80% of the viruses! If you specify option 'heuristics' (the so
  25.         called 'paranoia mode'), TbScan now detects about 95% of the
  26.         viruses! The default heuristic level should never produce 'false
  27.         positives' anymore, and the amount of 'false positives' in the
  28.         paranoia mode has been reduced to 20% of what it used to be.
  29.         The next version of TbScan will be a major new version with
  30.         heuristic capabilities that are even better than it is now.

  32.     -   To ease testing of the new heuristic engine, we added a new
  33.         option 'hrtest' that causes TbScan to disable signature scanning.
