Summoned by Ashley Hutchings (founder member of Fairport Convention), and helped record the classic album "Rise up Like the Sun" with fellow members Dave Mattacks, Simon Nicol, Richard and Linda Thompson, Kate McGarrigle and Julie Covington, with whom he also toured.
