Sir,-May I appeal to your lady readers for outfits for young girls leaving school and starting into service - one of the best things a girl can possibly do nowadays? I frequently have the opportunity of placing girls in good and suitable situations, but there is always a difficulty with regard to clothing. Parents are generally unable to provide an entirely new outfit, such as a girl must have if entering a nice place. Cotton dresses, black dress, and all necessary aprons are absolutely essential, for (whatever else a girl may have) she is never able to find these.
Perhaps, now that the dark days are coming, there are some ladies who would really like to help in this important work, and will set about making some garments, and thus supply a great need. Full particulars will be gladly sent to anyone who will volunteer such a kindly act.
