-
- This question gets asked periodically, so I figure I'll just post the
- latest info on how to get the X.PC source and documentation.
-
-
-
-
- X.PC INFORMATION AND UPDATE POLICY
- Revised August 1, 1988
-
-
- X.PC IS A PUBLIC DOMAIN PROTOCOL. THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THE X.PC
- DRIVER FOR THE PC OR ITS CONCEPTS.
-
- However, for a small cost-defraying charge, the X.PC technical
- documentation with source code on diskette is mailed out on the second
- Monday of each month. It is sent by first class mail through the U.S.
- Postal Service.
-
-
- X.PC Packet Information
-
-
- The X.PC Packet provides guidelines to interface the X.PC Driver to an
- application on an IBM PC (and 100% compatible) that runs under MS-DOS
- or PC-DOS, version 2.00 and above.
-
- Two sample applications (with source code) are provided on diskettes
- with the X.PC Driver Module. Also provided are development utilities
- which monitor the interaction between your application and the X.PC
- Driver Module.
-
- If you wish to modify the driver or to port the X.PC Driver to other
- hardware or operating environments, the source code for the X.PC
- Driver Module is also provided. The code is mainly written in
- Microsoft C, and IBM Macro-assembler to manipulate the 8250
- communications processor.
-
- Also included with the X.PC technical documentation and state diagrams
- is a utility that allows a PC with two serial cards to be used as an
- X.PC line monitor/protocol analyzer.
-
-
- X.PC Packet Cost
-
-
- A check for $35.00 ($45.00 if outside the United States) covers the
- cost of five (5) diskettes, the documentation, and the postage and
- handling.
-
-
- X.PC Packet Rush deliveries
-
-
- Rush deliveries are processed only if the check and the completed
- request are accompanied by a self-addressed (with billing account
- number) airbill for overnight delivery. Self-addressed airbills for
- Federal Express, DHL, or Airborne are accepted. No "bill recipient" or
- COD (such as UPS) will be processed for rush delivery.
-
