  1. This disk contains the listings for the December 1987 issue of 
  2. "Dr. Dobb's Journal of Software Tools."  The listings for each 
  3. article are in archive files (.arc) organized under the author's
  4. name.  In addition to the listings each archived file includes a file
  5. with a .exp extension.  This file includes the examples contained within
  6. the article.

  8. To unarchive the files type 
  9.                 arce filename
  10.  
  11. Please note that an archived file will double in size (at least) when
  12. unarchived. 
  13.  
  14. Deikman.arc contains the listings from the article "A RAM-Cache Manager 
  15. in C" by Alan Deikman.  The article starts on page 30 with the examples 
  16. included, and the listings are on page 62.
  17.  
  18. Holub.arc contains the listings from Allen Holub's C Chest Column. 
  19. The examples from within the column are in holub.exp. It begins on 
  20. page 126 with the examples included, and the listings start on page 110.
  21.  
  22. Letters.exp is the examples from the "Letters" column.  It begins on 
  23. page 12.
  24.  
  25. Mariella.arc contains the listings from "Integers Don't Float" by 
  26. Ray Mariella.  The examples are included in the article which begins 
  27. on page 48,and the listings begin on page 98.
  28.  
  29. Naro.arc contains the listings from "Putting ROM Code in its Place" 
  30. by Rick Naro.  It begins on page 38 with the examples included and 
  31. the listings begin on page 68.
  32.  
  33. Port.arc is from the article "A Graphics Toolbox for Turbo C Part II" 
  34. by Kent Porter.  It begins on page 54 and the listings are on page 106.
  35.  
  36. Tracy.arc contains the listings from "The Forth Column" by Martin 
  37. Tracy.  The column begins on page 144 with the examples included, 
  38. and the listings start on page 124.
