Welcome to the world of QHELP - The User Definable Quik Help System!
You should have the following files on your disk/in your archive:
QHCOMPIL.EXE The help file compiler program
QHCOMPIL.DOC The Help File Programmers Guide
HELPFILE.QHP A help file for writing help files
Complete documentation on writing help files and using the QHCOMPIL program
is in the Help File Programmers Guide. HELPFILE.QHP is a QHELP help file that
gives information on writing help files that can be popped up while using your
favorite text editor to create the source files. Oh yes, I almost forgot -
you do need a good text editor to create help files. Any editor capable of
creating a simple ASCII text file (no formatting, tab characters, etc.) will
work just fine.
I am assuming here that you already have a copy of QHELP.EXE and its
documentation. If you don't, you should get a copy and get used to using QHELP
before trying to write any help files yourself. A sample help file will be
supplied with QHELP. The QHELP program and User's Guide can be found in the
file QHELP.ARC on many public bulletin boards, or contact me at the address
below.
For now I'm not requiring registration fees or anything like that, but if you
like QHELP and are using it regularly, please realize that I am a starving
college student and I would appreciate any contributions to the cause (cash is
fine, so are checks, money orders, stocks, bonds, your first-born child, etc.)
If you have any comments or suggestions (or would like to send me money - bless
your heart) contact me at:
