Hard Disk List Utility - HDLU

Documentation - Ver. 4.0
This program is menu driven and should be self explanatory. The
purpose of this program is to get a nice listing of all or part of the
files within the directories and subdirectories. When prompted for a
"Yes or No" answer, the flashing [Y] or [N] is the default and you
need only reply with the Return Key. When asked for the "full path",
be sure to include the "\" where appropriate. After depressing the
Return Key, the cursor will be repositioned to the beginning of the
line. If what you have typed looks correct, depress the Return Key a
second time, otherwise retype to make corrections.
After the credit page is displayed, the program gives the user a
choice of six printers to choose from. If these printer selections do
not include your printer type, make up an ASCII .PDF file similar to
one of the six .PDF files included. You are then prompted for the
starting directory, unless you specified one on the DOS command line.
You are then asked "Do you want a listing ?" with the default being
[YES].
The program was compiled and sized to handle a maximum of 512
subdirectories and 500 files per subdirectory. It's hard for me to
imagine more than that for someone's PC, but if you need to have
more, leave me a message on one of the bulletin boards listed below.
The following are to serve as examples for running HDLU from the DOS
command line:
C> HDLU \ - causes the ROOT directory to be the
starting
point
C> HDLU \TELIX - SubDirectory TELIX becomes the starting
point
C> HDLU \FINANCE\HOME - SubDirectory FINANCE\HOME is starting
point
Once the program finds the starting point that you have selected,
it continues to display and list the files as it finds them. When a
subdirectory is found, it is placed on a stack. After all the files
at the current level have been processed, the next subdirectory is
taken off of the stack and it's files get processed. This continues
until all of the files and all of the subdirectories have been
processed. If you want to see how the program works before using up
any paper, answer NO when prompted for a listing.
If you like the program, then please let me know. If you have
any problems with this program or would like to see some additions,
please leave me a message on one of the following bulletin boards:
