  2. = Procomm/DOS Shell incompatability with IBM Internal 1200 Modem =
  3. ==================================================================
  4. SYMPTOMS: When running Procomm 2.3 or 2.4.2 on a PC,PCXT
  5.           or AT, running any DOS, in the HOST mode of
  6.           Procomm, the HOST locks up tight when trying to
  7.           do a DOS Shell or Files.  All other Procomm
  8.           functions and features work fine.
  9.  
  10. PROBLEM:  Procomm sets bit zero of the 'IER' prior to processing
  11.           the DOS Shell or Files commands.  Hayes and most other
  12.           modems don't seem concerned with this and work okey.
  13.           However the IBM Internal Modem will go to sleep shortly
  14.           after displaying the initial DOS Version ?.? etc etc
  15.           line.

  17. SOLUTION: The solution to this problem and most of the original
  18.           research for this problem was done by Guido L. Arocha
  19.           located in Boco Raton, Fla.  Most credit for the work,
  20.           research and fix should go to him.

  22. NOTE:     The bug shows up on a lot of computers other than IBM.
  23.           Some of the other computers include; Atari, Apple,
  24.           Heath-Zenith and many IBM clones.

  26. APPLY FIX:Start batch file, "procm.bat" and follow the prompts.
  27.           It might be helpful to print off the BAT file for 
  28.           reference.  The assembler code is included in case of
  29.           need.  After patch is in place and tested, you can
  30.           delete unused/unwanted files and del un-needed REM's
  31.           in the BAT file and save storage and exec time.
