  1. This is the first release (1.0a) of my set of utilities for PC
  2. compatible systems.  I have written many of these utilities myself, but
  3. I have obtained others from Usenet news and converted and compiled them
  4. for the PC. 
  5.  
  6. The names of the programs may be familiar to you: atob, btoa, cal, cat,
  7. chmod, compress, detab, dump, entab, head, pr, swchar, tail, touch,
  8. udate, uudecode, uuencode.
  9.  
  10. The programs which I have written are not public domain, but are
  11. copyright material.  Such copyright also applies to derivatives of my
  12. original work.  Permission is hereby granted to use, copy, and
  13. distribute these tools PROVIDED THAT no restrictions or charges are
  14. imposed for distribution and excepting service charges if the buyer is
  15. informed in writing before purchase that these utilities are available
  16. elsewhere at no charge.

  18. If their is sufficient interest, I will post the modified sources to the
  19. programs which were previously posted on the net.
