TLXPCP v2.0? Well, may be later. It depends on whether or not I
decide to keep PC Pursuit. I can't support these scripts if I don't
have the service to test them on, but you may be able to look forward to
this:
I have a couple of things in mind for the next version of this set
of scripts.
o Today, a script must specify both a city and speed to access
an outdial rotary. PC Pursuit has promised new network software
to combine each city's rotaries into one. This will probably
impact how scripts access the outdials. I'll be watching for
this and will modify TLXPCP15 accordingly.
o I'm looking at putting an option in the BBS dialer script to
allow you to exit the city immediately after getting a "BUSY."
PC Pursuit has indicated that it will give an as yet unspecified
grace period to allow for the "BUSIES." If you get out of the
city before the grace period, you will not be charged. Also, the
monthly elapsed time counter will be adjusted to follow whatever
scheme PC Pursuit decides to use to determine your usage. The
scripts follow their current thinking, but who know what'll happen
next?
o I'm also looking at making a Racal-Vadic version of the BBS dialer.
I like the extra information that this modem returns.
o Insert your favorite change here. If you have something that you
either don't like or would like to see in a future release, now is
your chance. Leave me a message in either the PC Pursuit Echo, the
Telix Echo, or on the Network Exchange. If I like it and if it is
possible I'll put it in. As a minimum, however, I'll try to give
you a hand in modifying the scripts for your personal usage.
Thank you for giving these scripts a try.
