The accompanying file, aidstech.doc, is the text of a file of
technical information prepared by Dr. Alan Solomon, Chairman IBM PC
User Group, London, concerning the PC Cyborg AIDS Disk trojan. I have
copied the file from the Virus-L (comp.virus) archives on
certs.sei.cmu.edu, and edited it slightly in the following manner: In
a few places it looked like transmission errors had changed a newline
character to J, and I changed it back. The character <control-H>
appeared in a context where it seemed that a printing character,
perhaps an IBM PC graphic character, was intended to represent the
space character. I changed it to the character ~ to improve
readability. In the encryption table and sample decryption BASIC code
the characters <control-H> and <control-G> appeared in the file. I
wasn't sure what had been in the original, so I changed them to ^H
and ^G respectively to improve readability. I trust that these minor
typographical changes will make it easier to output and read this
file without altering the meaning in any essential way.
