  1.                    WILDCAT! 11/01/89 TEST DRIVE RELEASE

  3. This README file contains brief information regarding the enclosed WILDCAT!
  4. TEST-DRIVE release.
  5.  
  6. 1. The dates on all files you receive should be 11-1-89, and all programs
  7.    should reference the TEST-DRIVE release of that date. This TEST-DRIVE
  8.    program is distributed as a two- diskette set (if on disk) or as two
  9.    self-extracting .EXE files. If you have any doubts about the integrity
  10.    of the files you have received you may order the TEST-DRIVE program
  11.    directly from Mustang Software, Inc. for $10 Call us at 805-395-0223 if
  12.    you want a complete version shipped via UPS.

  14. 2. MAKE SURE you have a minimum of 2 MB of Hard Disk Storage available
  15.    BEFORE installing WILDCAT!
  16.  
  17. 3. If you received this version directly from Mustang Software, Inc or
  18.    perhaps your User Group or Shareware Vendor, then you should have
  19.    received two diskettes. To get started, create a directory on your hard
  20.    drive called WILDCAT (ie MD \WILDCAT), then change to that directory
  21.    (ie CD \WILDCAT). While in your WILDCAT directory, place Disk #1
  22.    (PROGRAM.DISK) in Drive A and type:

  24.         A:WCPGMS
  25.  
  26.    This is a self extracting file, which means several files will come out
  27.    of WCPGMS and will be placed in your WILDCAT directory. Then, when
  28.    WCPGMS is finished, type:
  29.  
  30.         A:WCDOCS
  31.  
  32.    This self extracting file contains the complete 180+ page documentation,
  33.    as well as a file called REGISTER.FRM which is a Registration Form for
  34.    receiving the latest commercial version.
  35.  
  36.    Next, replace DISK #1 (PROGRAM DISK) with DISK #2 (SUPPORT DISK) and
  37.    type:

  39.         A:DISPLAY
  40.  
  41.    This self extracting file contains all of WILDCAT! display files (Menus,
  42.    Bulletins, Help Files, Etc...) when DISPLAY is finished extracting type:

  44.         A:WCUTILS
  45.  
  46.    This self extracting file contains all the utility programs, such as the
  47.    installation program called MAKEWILD and file utility ADDFILES, plus
  48.    many more.

  50.    Once WCUTILS is completed, then you should print out the WILDCAT!.DOC
  51.    file and follow the instructions within the docs.

  53. 4. If you received WILDCAT! electronically, then you should have downloaded
  54.    WILDCAT1.EXE and WILDCAT2.EXE (As originally distributed by Mustang
  55.    Software, Inc.). These are self extracting files. WILDCAT1.EXE is the
  56.    WILDCAT! PROGRAM DISK and WILDCAT2.EXE is the WILDCAT! SUPPORT DISK.

  58.    To get started, create a directory called WILDCAT and self extract
  59.    WILDCAT1 and WILDCAT2 in that directory. Then follow the instructions
  60.    outlined above in paragraph #2 with the exception you can delete
  61.    WCPGMS.EXE, WCDOCS.EXE, DISPLAY.COM, & WCUTILS.EXE from your hard drive
  62.    after you've extracted all of your files.

  64. 5. WILDCAT! TEST-DRIVE will NOT operate on a floppy disk system, it
  65.    requires a hard disk for operation.
  66.  
  67. 6. The documentation WILDCAT!.DOC is very complete, and will printout over
  68.    180 pages of text. It includes 25 pages of documentation on advanced
  69.    features not included in the TEST-DRIVE version. These 25 pages are
  70.    included to provide details of these advanced features (Doors &
  71.    Multi-Line operation) and to answer user questions.

  73. 7. The documentation makes use of the IBM Extended character set including
  74.    line drawing characters. If your printer is not capable of printing
  75.    these characters, you will instead see other symbols in place of the
  76.    lines and boxes.

  78. 8. Print the documentation by simply copying the documentation file to your
  79.    printer with the command line

  81.         COPY WILDCAT!.DOC PRN
  82.  
  83.    Again, it is over 180 pages in length.
  84.  
  85. 9. Voice Tech Support is provided for your initial setup only, feel free to
  86.    call if you have questions regarding the installation. We ask that you
  87.    have a copy of the documentation printed out (yes all 180+ pages) in
  88.    front of you when you call. It is also helpful if you're in front of your
  89.    computer which is going to run WILDCAT! when you call.

  92.    to print out our documentation!  NO EXCEPTIONS!
