P4UP Version 1.0 - A Brief Description
P4UP is a DOS utility program for use with Hewlett-Packard's LaserJet
series II Printer that prints 4 page images of ASCII text in portrait
mode on one side of a piece of paper (8 using both sides). To do this,
P4UP generates and downloads its own soft font similar to one used on
personal computer displays.
In its simplest form, P4UP works like the DOS PRINT command, just give
it the file descriptions of files you want printed, using the disk,
directory, and file names, even using wild cards.
P4UP also has options to control the printing, including: continuous,
unformatted, or zigzag printing; writing to LPT1, 2, 3 or COM1, or 2;
specifying font id, and making font resident for use with other software.
P4UP consists of two files:
P4UP.EXE The main program
P4UP.DOC Program documentation and registration form.
P4UP is shareware with a price of $29.95. All registered users will
also receive a landscape font with the same typeface capable of printing
240 characters across an 11 inch page, suitable for spreadsheet printouts.
Entering the command P4UP P4UP.DOC will print the documentation.
