You should now have the following files on your disk:
o READMEFIRST! - The file you are now reading.
o EXECUTEME - An executable batch file (see details below).
o LISTFILE - A list of fonts on this disk (again, see details).
o TESTFILE - A simple text file used as a test (details....).
If you choose to execute the EXECUTEME file, the following events
will occur:
o The LISTFILE will be sent to the printer. It prints out a
list of fonts that will be subsequently downloaded to the
printer and tested using the TESTFILE file.
o A font will be downloaded to the printer and the TESTFILE
will be printed out.
o Another font will be downloaded to the printer and the
TESTFILE will be printed out.
o This continues until all fonts have been downloaded to the
printer and tested using the TESTFILE file. This will take
approximately 20 minutes to accomplish!
o A message should appear saying that the process is complete.
You do not need to execute the EXECUTEME file if you wish not to
see examples of all the fonts. Whenever you wish to download a
font to the printer, simply bring up a CLI window and type:
TYPE <fontname> PAR:
After a few seconds, the font should be firmly entrenched in your
printers memory. It is imperative that you use the PAR: device
and not the PRT: device when downloading the font itself. You
may use PRT: when subsequently printing out text files. The CLI
command presented above can be included in your startup-sequence
so the font of your choosing is always loaded in whenever you
boot your Amiga.
