  3. Dear fellow SYSOP,

  5. This is the read me file for the documentation for RBBS-PC
  6. Version 17.3.  It should be a part of RBBS-DOC.ZIP,
  7. containing the following files:

  9. DOC\RBBSDOC1.ASC   1st half of documentation
  10. DOC\RBBSDOC2.ASC   2nd hald of documentation
  11. DOC\FEATURES.ASC   List of RBBS-PC features (optional)
  12.  
  13. This file part of a larger set of files and should not be
  14. distributed alone.
  15.  
  16. RBBS-PC Version CPC17.3 is distributed via three mandatory and four
  17. optional standard "ZIP" files.   Two sets of merges are available but
  18. not automatically distributed.

  35. RBBS-LIT.ZIP  Merges to reduce size of RBBS-PC.EXE.
  36. RBBSSEXE.ZIP  RBBS-PC.EXE.  Smaller, faster, minimal debugging.

  38. Simply uncompress the first three files and follow the instruction in the
  39. RBBS-PC documentation entitled, "Installing RBBS-PC for the First Time."
  40.  
  41. For those who have never operated an electronic bulletin board before,
  42. we suggest getting Bantam Books' "The Complete Electronic Bulletin Board
  43. Starter Kit" by Charles Bowen and David Peyton (ISBN 0-553-34552-4).
  44. RBBS-PC's documentation is only a "reference" and is not nearly as good
  45. a learning guide for new SYSOP's.  However, the book only covers RBBS-PC
  46. version 15.1C, and therefore does not cover new features.  Version 17.3
  47. is downward compatible with the system files of 15.1C.
