ZIP Format View 1.01 - Allows you to see how a ZIP file is laid out on
disk. Uses windowing to step down to lower levels of detail. Displays
record offsets and most field values, including their interpretation.
Admittedly, this program isn't for everyone. For the curious and those
with a need to know, however, this program displays technical data on
actual ZIP files that I haven't seen in any other program. There are no
switches.
This is a free program. I developed it for my own use, but make it
available to anyone else who might be interested.
Usage: ZFV zipfile
If an extension is not specified, ".ZIP" will be assumed. (If you wish to
view a ZIP file with no extension, append a trailing ".".)
The program will read your current video mode and, if video mode 2 or 7 is
detected, black-and-white (BW) mode will be used; otherwise, color. If you
don't have a color monitor and have difficulty reading the display, you may
use DOS's MODE command to turn color mode off ("MODE bw80").
As an alternative, <Alt-C> used at any selection menu will toggle the
display between color- and BW-modes.
