- DVIVGA - TeX Previewer for IBM-PC with VGA, EGA or MCGA Graphics
-
-
- DVIVGA is a public domain program written by Doug McDonald, Nelson Beebe,
- and others.
-
- It is specifically designed so that you can view your .dvi files
- in a size that just fits (from side to side) on the screen, so that you
- can get the best possible resolution. Or you can get the whole page
- (well, usually) on the screen.
-
- The files for the DVIVGA TeX previewer are stored in this directory.
- DVIVGA1.ZIP contains the documentation, executable, and miscellaneous.
-
- DVIVGA2.ZIP through
- DVIVGA8.ZIP contain font files. These are themselves
- .ZIP files - they are packed this way to make naming them
- easier, as the stupid Wollongong TCP software won't allow
- anonymous ftp from subdirectories. A more complete set of
- fonts for larger sizes is available by anonymous ftp from
- science.utah.edu
-
- DVIVGA9.ZIP contains the source code.
-
- Please note that all the files save this one are strictly binary, and
- have to be downloaded in the proper manner.
-
-
-
- INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING DVIVGA:
-
- Copy all the files 1 through 8 to your pc. Unzip them with PKUNZIP.
- Then read the DVIVGA.DOC file. PLEASE! Read that file first! PLEASE!
- This is a very versitile program, but you can't use it fully unless
- you read ALL about it!
-
- Then proceed according to its instructions
-
- Note that not all fonts are provided in all sizes: the larger ones
- include only the ones normally use as headlines, the half-size and
- very small ones only those ones that can't be reasonably substituted for.
-
-

-
- INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPILING DVIVGA
-
- Unpack the DVIVGA9.ZIP file on your pc. Make sure you have Microsoft
- C 5.1. Then simply say MCOMP. That is a batch file which will compile
- the program. This is easier than using Microsoft's brain-damaged
- make utility. In any case, "make" is useless for a program with only
- one object file.
