  1. Using MaxThink in hypertext construction        <sum07 1 6>

  4.                 I use the MaxThink outline/idea processor for many of the
  5.                 hypertext construction processes.
  6.  
  7.                 MaxThink goes beyond conventional outline programs in the
  8.                 following ways:

  10.             │   Many ways to move information aiding various thinking styles │
  11.             │   Many ways to display information to shift perception         │
  12.             │   Does this with text as well as with files, graphics          │
  13.             └────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
  14.                 These capabilities are important to hypertext.  For example:
  15.  
  16. Hypertext node  The Alt-I and F4 commands make MaxThink an excellent
  17. management      organizer and manipulator of the files or nodes that make up
  18. ==========      a hypertext system.
  19.  
  20. Building        The MaxThink commands useful in classifying the information
  21. taxonomies      in ways that quickly build hierarchies.  Of course, these
  22. ==========      processes are also central in hypertext construction.
  23.  
  24. Networks        Besides the obvious hypertext explanatory jumps between
  25. construction    units of information, good hypertext also centers on
  26. ============    transitive links.  For hypertext jump production, I use three
  27.                 programs that automatically build transitive links from
  28.                 MaxThink files (PERM, M2H, and M2A).
  29.  
  30. Philosophy      Perhaps even more important than the commands of MaxThink is
  31. ==========      the philosophy behind it -- how to use structure for improved
  32.                 communication, perception, understanding, or representing
  33.                 knowledge -- key hypertext issues covered in MaxThink's manual.
  34.  
  35. Utilities       Finally, many of the utilities of HyperLink <link27> use the
  36. =========       MaxThink file format such as:
