  1. KER_SCP3.ARC    - Useful Kermit (v2.29 or above) script files.
  2.  
  3.         Files include:
  4.           Scripts to log on to a Unix VAX host and two common BBS's
  5.           (TCOMM, ROS)
  6.  
  7.               A typical initialization file (MSKERMIT.INI) to set baud,
  8.           port, function key macros, command macros, etc.
  9.  
  10.           An extract from the Kermit user's manual specifically
  11.           discussing scripts.
  12.  
  13.           A script for redefining the keys for use with EMACS.
  14.  
  15. Other Kermit users are encouraged to contribute scripts that help ease
  16. THEIR communications.  Keith Petersen <W8SDZ@WSMR-SIMTEL20.ARMY.MIL> will
  17. collate and incorporate them in this archive.  (So send them to HIM,
  18. not to me!)

  31. I use the following MSKERMIT key definitions on an XT clone to
  32. connect to a VAX.
  33.  
  34. 1) VT102.DOC provides a VAX EDT editor keypad map for my particluar
  35.    keyboard.
  36.  
  37. 2) MSKERMIT.INI is the initialization file I use.  Once in Kermit,
  38.    the command DO EDT will load the EDT keypad map and the command
  39.    DO WS will allow me to use most WordStar cursor movement commands
  40.    (except ^S of course) while in EDT.
  41.  
  42. 3) VT102.KEY contains the EDT-compatible key mapping.  Note that
  43.    the original Kermit local page scrolling can still be used by
  44.    pressing ALT-CTRL along with PgUp, etc.
  45.  
  46. 4) WS.KEY contains the WordStar cursor movement enhancements for
  47.    use with EDT.

  53. Note from Keith Petersen:  The ARC filename will change in the number
  54. field when new files are added.  This README file will always show the
  55. name of the latest version.
