Here's DGTERM, a small background VT-102 emulator with background file
transfer (X/Ymodem) capabilities. I believe the VT-102 emulation is
more true than most commercial emulators. The program is only 10k
long, and requires about 23k to run.
DGTERM is distributed as shareware; read DGTERM.DOC for details.

This is version 1.0.
VT100/VT102 emulation is good. (When I ran the public domain "vttest"
program to test vt100/vt101 emulation, DGterm failed a couple of tests
that Kermit 2.29 passes. But most casual users will never know the
difference).
Background ymodem/batch downloads went well. I couldn't make uploads
work but I can't conclude that it's a problem with DGterm because
Xmodem and Ymodem uploads have never worked well with our UNIX
mainframe.
I was able to hot-key out of dgterm to get back to the MS-DOS prompt,
use dsz to do file transfers using zmodem protocol, and then hot-key
back to dgterm without problems.
