This program could not be uploaded in its original form to GEnie,
because it contained DR.COM, the PC Magazine utility as an example of how to
use the miscellaneous commands in POE (This will make sense after you read
the POE documents). PC Magazine forbids the use of its material on
commercial boards. Our vigilant Sysop's who actually look at each file we
upload informed me that to use the file with DR.COM is a copyright
violation.
So, I have gone ahead and uploaded this without the offending program
(which is not so hot anyway) together with this document file and an
accompanying archived file called MYPOE.ARC.
MYPOE.ARC contains the POE.CFG file that I use (rename it from
MYPOE.CFG to POE.CFG to use) and examples of command files that I use to
restore my editor and to run various utilities. Command files seem to be a
more flexible way at getting to most things. The QUIT.CMD file is
unrelated to this except peripherally, I use it to exit Procomm because it
resets my modem for use in other programs. I found that I could not use the
SIDEKICK or WordPerfect Library dialers without an ATZ command before
exiting.
As mentioned in the download note, you must have the program DSZ.ARC
to run this program. I have registered my copy of DSZ and I hope that you
will register your copy and all of the shareware programs that you use.
Shareware has brought us Procomm and DSZ and countless other excellent
programs at a reasonable cost. If we don't pay the money the supply is going
to dry up on us.
If you are compelled to see the original unadulterated version of this
program, it and I can be found on the Renaissance BBS in Charlotte, NC:
704/522-8579. New users can download from this BBS.
