The CIS Node Locator
version 1.0
Copyright (c) 1993 Andy Abercrombie
All rights Reserved
OVERVIEW: This program will find a location when you enter a CIS
node and press the Find Button. It is designed to run under
Windows while your communication program is also running under
Windows in a windowed mode. It should be helpful during a
conference to find out where the others are calling from without
having to ask.
USING THE LOCATOR: The CIS Node Locator will start and always stay
on top by default, this was implemented for use with WinCIM. This
feature can be turned off from the system menu. This program is
like most of Windows programs as far as how to navigate. A brief
explanation for keyboard use. The TAB key will cycle through the
buttons and entry box where you enter a node. Enter will process
the button or the entry box. Alt-Tab will cycle you through all the
applications you have running in Windows. The main window in the
Locator has three buttons and an entry box. Exit button will leave
the program, About button will bring up the version and Copyright
notice, Find will find the location of the node you have entered,
and the entry box is where you enter the three letter abbreviation
for a node. From the entry box Alt-x will exit, Alt-A will display
About, and Alt-F will find the location for the node. If you're not
in the entry box the x, A or F will work without the Alt key. You
can access the system menu using the F10 key and pressing enter.
You can press M to move the window, C or Alt-F4 to close the window
or, T to toggle Always on top and of course you can move down to the
one you want using the arrow keys and press enter. Cut and Paste is
not fully implemented in this version but if you can copy a node
from another window, and you can use Ctrl-V to paste this node in
the entry box and press enter to locate.
Mouse operation is just like using keys except just point at the
button, entry box, system menu item and click the left mouse
button. To highlight the entry box for replacement of its contents
double click the mouse button. Double clicking the system menu will
exit the program. The right button doesn't do anything at this time.
INSTALLATION: This version doesn't have a setup program you must
manually set it up. Copy all the files to a directory of your
choice. Start Windows, either select a group or create one, pick
File | New | Item, type in "CIS Nodes" for name, pick browse to
point to CISNODES.EXE for file, and pick change icon and the icon
will appear, pick OK. And that's all there is to it.

UPDATING THE DATA FILE: This feature has not yet be added. If
there is a demand for this program, I will add this feature. Mean
while I'll post an updated DAT file every couple of months. The whole
program can always be found on Compuserve by typing GO HSX100
and looking in the Software Exchange Library for NODES##.ZIP where
the ## is the version number. The updated DAT files will have the name
of UNODE##.ZIP where the ## is the version of the update. If you have
any trouble finding the update DAT files, Email me and I'll send you the
latest update.
FUTURE VERSIONS: If you Email me and tell me what you would like to
see changed or added, I'll work on getting them to you. Other wise
this is it!
