  7.  
  8. Ordinary DOS and Windows file deletes are NOT secure. The file is
  9. merely marked as deleted but the data in the file is still sitting
  10. on the disk. Any undelete program or disk scan program can access the
  11. data on the disk.  It remains that way until another file happens to
  12. overwrite the disk area.
  13.  
  14. Garbage Can will take care of the security problem that occurs with
  15. an ordinary file delete. We GUARANTEE the deleted file can NOT be
  16. recovered.

  19.                                                                                                                                         VERSION
  20. We maintain no version number since we can not seem to keep track
  21. of them anyway. We track our projects by date. The date that appears
  22. on this documentation and in the 'About' dialog is the release date.

  27.                         VERSION FOR WINDOWS 3.1
  28.  
  29. The version for Windows 3.1 is GARBAGE1.EXE and will not run in
  30. earlier versions of Windows.

  32. GARBAGE1 runs the same as GARBAGE0 but has one added feature.  It
  33. allows you to 'Drag And Drop' files from the Windows File Manager
  34. program on to the GARBAGE1 minimized icon.  Any file dragged on to
  35. the icon will then be processed according to the way you have the
  36. program options set.

  41.         First release. Uploaded to CompuServe and a local BBS in
  42.         Salem, Oregon.  If there is no date in the About dialog,
  43.         you have the first version.

  46.         Date field added to About dialog. Also, cursor now changes to
  47.         hourglass during file delete. This version was not released
  48.         to the public.

  61.   3.0 & 3.1) and Garbage1.exe (for Windows 3.1)

  80. to review the program to determine if it fits your needs. This does
  81. not mean the program is free. You are expected to pay the small fee
