  9.    Version 1.01 of LZ fixes almost all (if not all) bugs in LZ 0.91 in
  10. addition to providing 3-5% better compression (while remaining 100% compatible
  11. with the LZH format), and an average speed increase of over 200% in compression
  12. peaking at over 300% for highly compressible files, such as text files.
  13.  
  14.    However, this release of LZ 1.01 has been severely crippled.  This is
  15. because LZ is not, and has never been, free; it is a shareware product, and if
  16. it is used, it should be paid for.  The version of LZ 1.01 you currently
  17. possess is an evaluation copy, and will not process archives containing files
  18. larger than 60,000 bytes; if, after using the software for a short evaluation
  19. period you believe you like the software, you should send the required
  20. shareware donation to become a registered user of LZ, at which point you will
  21. receive a fully operational version of LZ.  Details about becoming a registered
  22. user are in the file LZ101.DOC.

  25. donation), you may freely download the fast, fully operational version from:

  60. even semi-regularly, have not paid for it, and have absolutely no intention of
  61. doing so.  I cannot allow this to continue; thus, the crippling of LZ 1.0.
