About FMouse
FMouse is similar to Matthew Dillon's DMOUSE an utility to accelerate the
mouse pointer and it includes a screen blanker darkening the screen to
prevent burning the picture into the monitor.
FMouse has a menu function with nine entries that can be opened easily by
using the right AMIGA key and HELP. If you have opened this menu which can
be created with "FMouse Menu Creator", you can start any of the programs
by pressing the keys 1 to 9 or by using the mouse. You need not to use CLI
or workbench and to search in different directories or something like that
(owners of harddisks know, who I mean...)
How to start FMouse ?
Start FMouse by typing "FMouse" using CLI (you need not type "RUN" as the
program returns immediately to CLI when it has created its own task) or
simply start it from workbench.
Then type the name of the file created with "FMouse Menu Creator" as
parameter or "?" for information. If you have already started FMouse the
current settings will be replaced by the new one. If you don't type any
parameter FMouse will be stopped and removed from the system. Starting
from workbench the file containing the parameter must be "S:FM.data".
Removing FMouse is not possible from workbench. Use CLI.
FMouse Menu Creator
"FMouse Menu Creator" creates the file that FMouse needs. It supports the
ARP-Library, but it works perfectly witout it, too. The ARP file requester
is then replaced by a simple string gadget.
On the left side the names of the programs are displayed, the numbers
should make the selection by keyboard easier but need not precede the
names. On the right side you can find the CLI commands that are executed
when a program is selected. The Addition "RUN: >NIL:" are not necessary,
but should be added when using longer programs as you cannot work with the
menu then. RUN takes less time.
In the left, down corner you can see the factor for the accelerator. 4 is
already very fast, higher values should not be used. You may want to try
factor 0 once, but ... please save all important files that you might want
to use again after the reset to disk.
Next to that gadget there is another one displaying the time after which
the screenblanker starts. One unit stands for 1/50 seconds, so if you want
it to be started after 10 seconds, enter 500 (50*10).
Down the window there are gadgets to load an FMouse file or to save the
current settings to disk. "About" gives you information about the author
and klicking on "Use" will install the settings for FMouse supposed it
has been started before. If you want the current settings use "Reset".
"Quit" will end the program without saving the settings.
general information
FMouse can work with TOPAZ-80 and TOPAZ-60, any other fonts should not be
higher than ten pixels or it may lead to problems.
The author declares himself not responsible for any damages due to FMouse
(eg. loss of any data that is not saved when a GURU reset occures). But
there should be no GURUs, as I have tested the program and use it myself.
