THE EASTERN COAST
OF THE USA
This coastline stretches
from the border with
Canda in the north,south
-wards along the Atlantic
coast and turns at the
Florida Keys to merge
into the Gulf of Mexico.
There are three main tourist
areas here - New York City,
New England and Florida
itself.
New England's is an area
covering the states of
Vermont,upper New York
state,Maine, New Hamphire,
Connecticut
and the surrounding areas.
It is the oldest settled
part of America by
Europeans and is still
very "English" in character.
It is the home of the true
Yankees and many of
America's "blueblood"
families hale from this part.
Travel to New England is
best from spring thorugh to
late autumn, but the winters
can be very cold.
There are many beautiful
national parklands in the
New England area such as
the Arcadia National
Park in Maine ,and some
fine colonial buildings.
The area contains some
real wilderness and some
awesome mountain scenery
and is a popular area for
camping/trailer holidays.
