  4. To be honest,safe
  5. travelling in the
  6. Eastern part of
  7. Africa is a big
  8. problem! Think of
  9. the top ten
  10. trouble spots at
  11. the present time
  12. and your bound to
  13. find quite a few
  14. of them in the
  15. East of that
  16. continent -
  17. Somalia,Ethiopia,
  18. being two in
  19. particular.
  20. Countries you
  21. could visit are
  22. Kenya,Uganada,
  23. Sudan and Tanzania
  24. but only one -
  25. Kenya has developed
  26. anything like a
  27. tourist industry.

  29. KENYA
  30. Kenya shares borders
  31. with Ethiopia,
  32. Suda,Uganda,Somialia,
  33. and Tanzania.To the
  34. east lies the very
  35. beautiful Indian
  36. Ocean. The country
  37. is one of great
  38. contrasts and arid
  39. desert areas contrast
  40. strongly with the
  41. highlands and the
  42. coast.

  44. Coastal areas are
  45. tropical but
  46. tempered by monsoon
  47. winds and the best
  48. time to visit is
  49. Jan- to June as
  50. it can be cooler
  51. in July and
  52. August.The coastal
  53. areas are hot and
  54. dry but it gets
  55. quite wet in the
  56. highlands and light
  57. rainwear is
  58. recommended if 
  59. travelling between
  60. march and June and
  61. October to December.

  65. has developed well
  66. and rapidly with
  67. beach holidays and
  68. safari holidays being
  69. the two most obvious
  70. and most popular.Various
  71. two or multi-centre
  72. variations of these are
  73. possible.The standard
  74. of accomodation can be 
  75. quite high.

  80. Tsavo National
  81. Masai Mara Reserve
  82. Meru National Park
  83. Mt Kenya National
  84. Amboseli National

  86. It is advisable
  87. whilst on these

  89. wander into the
  90. reserves unescorted.
  91. Recent problems with
  92. poachers/bandits
  93. seem to have abated,
  94. but a note of caution
  95. is wise.
