  73. What is 'FASTINTRO-MAKER' (also called: F.I.M.)?
  74.  
  75. 'F.I.M.' is a Demo/IntroMaker or Letterwriter.
  76. Because of using SystemRoutines of the new Amiga OS2.0, the Mainprogram
  77. (F.I.M.) will only run under Kickstart 2.x.
  78. The final created Intros/Demos are running without problems under
  79. Amiga-Kick 1.2/1.3/2.x (from Cli and Workbench)

  89. It is allowed to distribute `F.I.M.` in anyway (Disks/BBS`s...), when no
  90. change is made to the original Files.

  102. Getting started...

  105. You can start 'F.I.M.' by double-clicking on its Workbench-Icon or from
  106. CLI with its Filename. If you`re using `Run FastIntroMaker_V2.2`, you are
  107. able to use your Cli as long as you type `Endcli`.

  109. After loading `F.I.M.`, it will open up a Window with many Gadgets which
  110. will be explained now.

  210. Creating/Loading a new Musicmodule.....

  213. This version of F.I.M. can handle Soundmods. created with the Musicprg.
  214. `PROTRACKER` or a ClonePrg. like Sound/Noisetracker....
  215. When using a CloneMusicprg., a can`t promise the correctly Replay of the tune,
  216. because the Song/Sample-Effects are`nt the same in all the different versions
  217. of this MusicPrg..

  219. You also should note that the module may NOT be longer than MAX. 32KBYTE !!!

  222. The Amount of incoming Shareware-Fees and UserFeedbacks will decide if its
  223. necessary to release a new Version of the FastIntroMaker, wich will be able
  224. to handle more and bigger (KByte) SoundModul-Types.

  228. Creating a Demo-Text.....

  231. Well, to create a Demotext, just load your favourite Texteditor (maybe ED)
  232. and type some nice sentences...

  234. But remember that the Text should not include more than 31LINES. Longer Texts
  235. will be cutted (F.I.M. only loads in the first 31 Lines of you TextFile).
  236.  
  237. Also note that the lines should not contain more than 40CHRAS. Longer lines
  238. will also be cutted (The Rest will be typed in the next line).

  240. Just create some Demotext and see what happens..... The Text in the Intro
  241. will be displayed as in the F.I.M. Text-Display on the right Screenside.

  243. To use Special-Chars, look in the upper listed Char-Tab.

  247. Creating a Demo-Text.....

  250. Puhhh.... to create a Demopic, just paint a Pic with your ???-Paintprg. and
  251. load it into F.I.M..

  253. But remember before painting.. The PictureFormat MUST be: IFF 320×256 8Colors

  258. Saving a BootBlock-Demo to Disk.....
  259. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

  261. To save the current Demo as a Bootblockdemo you`ll need a empty DOS-Disk.
  262.  
  263. EMPTY.... Yes, the Disk should be empty, because F.I.M. will write the
  264.           Intro from the first Diskblock on. Any Files on the Disk, which
  265.           are located on these Blocks will be corrupted.
  266.  
  267. DOS...... Finaly you`ll need a DOS-Disk, because after writing the Intro
  268.           to Disk, F.I.M. wants to update/remap the Disk-Bitmapblock.
  269.           If no DiskBitmap is available F.I.M. will pop up a ErrorRequester.

  272. A LITTLE EXAMPLE.....

  275. 1).
  276. Take a fresh formated Disk, put it in your Diskdrive called DF0: and press
  277. the `SAVE BOOTINTRO` Gadget.
  278.

  280. A Requester comes up asking you to include or leave the current MusicModule.
  281. When leaving the Music, the Intro will be shorter (about 32KB).
  282.  
  283. 3.)
  284. The final Requester pops up waiting for your command to install the Disk in
  285. DF0: (INSTALL DF0:) or to abort the whole Action (ABORT OPERATION).

  287. 4.)
  288. When installing the Intro, look at the Drive-Lamp/LED. When the Diskdrive
  289. has stopped, the Disk is installed. Now you can quit F.I.M. or do anything.

  292. ATTENTION VIRUSKILLER:

  294. Some Viruskiller don`t allow other Progs. to install a new Bootblock on Disk.
  295. When installing your Intro to Disk, try to remove your active Viruskiller for
  296. this operation.

  305. All Intros created with F.I.M. should run correcty from Workbench and Cli.

  311. Finally I can say: " I`ve got much fun " while creating the Version 2.2
  312. of the FastIntroMaker.
  313. And I really have the pleasure and Ideas to release a new Version of F.I.M.

  315. But...because of the smallness of Userfeedbacks (Sharewarefees/Bugreports..)
  316. to any Shareware-Programer, I can`t promise a new Version of F.I.M.
