µShow - Copyright Mantis Development
The Author did not include a doc file, so I will try to explain how this
program works.
µShow is a quick & dirty IFF picture viewer, with one big advantage - size!
µShow is only 996 bytes on disk, yet it will display IFF, ILBM, HAM, and even
BRUSHES!! (If you don't know what the above abbreviations mean, they are
different disk storage formats for Amiga pictures.)
To show a picture, simply type: ushow <picture name>, and ushow will do its
best to put that picture on the screen. To make the picture go away, simply
press any key, or even the right mouse button.
Drawbacks:
µShow only has a couple of drawbacks. Number 1, it achieved its small size by
leaving out such extraneous things as ERROR MESSAGES! If something goes wrong,
(the filename you gave wasn't really a picture, not enough memory, etc.) the
only way you can tell is by the fact that you get your prompt back. Number 2,
to leave the picture on the screen, and still flip back to workbench (for
whatever reason), you must first click the pointer on the body of the picture.
This causes a small problem: now to get RID of the thing, you have to click
the pointer in the upper left corner of the screen - the close box is now the
ONLY way to get rid of it, instead of all the other available ways before.
Number 3, it CHOKES on overscan pictures.
Ok, enough soapbox. Use it in good health.
