MacroPaint
MacroPaint is a 12 bit 4096 color paint program for the amiga. It
will be available January 1, 1990. MacroPaint uses the Amiga's graphics
co-processor (the `Copper') to display a different color palette on each high
resolution scan line, making it possible to display all of the Amiga's
4096 colors simultaneously on a 640 pixel wide high resolution screen. The
demo program included in this ZOO file displays 14 different colors on each
high-resolution horizontal scan line for a total of 1536 colors being
displayed on a standard high-resolution non-interlaced intuition screen.
MacroPaint has a built in ARexx port and the ability to import
images from a variety of popular ray-tracing software and digitizing
hardware. Because MacroPaint stores each image internally as 12 bits of
information per pixel it requires an Amiga with at least 1MB of RAM to
run, and additional `fast' RAM is recommended.
If you have questions about the program or suggestions for features,
