  1.  
  2.  THE DALEKS.  Written by Terry Nation.   7 Episodes.

  8.  COMPANIONS:- Ian, Barbara and Susan
  9.  
  10.    The TARDIS lands on a barren planet, in the midst of a petrified jungle.
  11.  The Doctor concludes that the devastation is the result of neutronic war.
  12.  Susan sees a city in the far distance but Ian and Barbara are reluctant to
  13.  investigate. The Doctor tells them that the TARDIS fluid link needs topping
  14.  up with mercury before they can leave and that they'll have to go to the 
  15.  city to get some. This later turns out to be a lie.
  16.    The travellers make their way to the city, splitting up to investigate.
  17.  Barbara is menaced by a strange creature and is taken captive. The others
  18.  enter the city in a group to look for her and are also taken prisoner, Ian
  19.  is shot in the legs whilst trying to escape. 
  20.    In their cell the crew begin to feel the effects of radiation and the 
  21.  Daleks decide to send Susan back to the TARDIS for drugs. Susan meets a
  22.  native of the planet, a handsome, blonde man who gives her two batches of
  23.  drugs. He also tells her that his tribe, the Thals, are starving and need
  24.  help. When Susan returns to the city the Daleks find both supplies but
  25.  uncharacteristically allow Susan to help the others, they also agree to
  26.  provide the Thals with food but lay a trap in which a Thal leader is
  27.  killed. The travellers escape with news of a Dalek plot. 
  28.    After finding the drug to be ineffective when used on Daleks, they
  29.  decide to explode a massive neutron bomb to destroy the Thals and allow
  30.  them to leave the city. The Daleks thrive on radiation. 
  31.    Meanwhile, the Doctor persuades the pacifist Thals to attack the city
  32.  before they are wiped out. The Dalek control centre is destroyed, cutting
  33.  off the Daleks source of power (static electricity) and killing them.
