This sub-tree of "The Internet MPEG CD-Rom" is a copy of the
famous Internet-Underground-Music-Archive, called IUMA.
It contains lots of independend and unknown bands and
their music, most of them stored in MPEG's audio-format.
Most of the MPEG-streams, plus description-files and
photos of the band are included here, but not everything,
because the IUMA-archive is TOO big to put on one CD-ROM.
Read the README.TXT-file, all files in the INFO-dir,
specially those containing the copyright-information.
YOU have to stick to them as well !
The bands and their music is stored in the MUSIC-dir,
some Mosaic-WWW-pages (in PostScript-format) are stored
in the WWW-dir.
The bands always have a sub-dir on their own in
the MUSIC-directory-tree. Therein you find a IMAGES-,
a SOUNDS- and a TEXT-directory; the IMAGES-dir
contains pictures of the band, the SOUNDS-dir the
actual MPEG-stream (most the times their three versions
of one songs, the one differing with a starting M is
the mono-streams, the one with a starting E an excerp,
meaning just a little piece of the songs).
The names of the files had to be change to fullfil
the need of the ISO-9660-norm for the CD-ROM file-
system. Have a look into the 00INDEX.TXT-file to
get a short descriptions of the songs and the bands.
Have a look into the MUSIC/00INDEX.TXT-file for the
complete names of the bands.
Enjoy MPEG-audio at his best and thnx a lot to the
IUMA-staff for letting me including this in the CD-ROM,
Phade
