  1. Move commands:
  2.         Arrow Keys: single move in specified direction
  3. y k u    7 8 9    Shifted Arrow: repeated move in specified direction
  4.  \|/     \|/    hykulnjb: single move in specified direction
  5. h-.-l    4-5-6    HYKULNJB: repeated move in specified direction
  6.  /|\     /|\        (until stopped by e.g. a wall)
  7. b j n    1 2 3    f<dir>: fast movement in direction <dir>
  8.     Keypad        (until something interesting is seen)
  9.         m<dir>: move without picking up objects
  10. Meta commands:
  11. Q    quit    leave the game
  12. S    save    save the game (to be continued later)
  13. o    set    set options
  14. ?    help    print information
  15. /    whatis    give name (and sometimes more info) of specified monster
  16. !    sh    escape to some SHELL
  17. v    version    print version number
  18. ^R    redraw    redraw the screen (^R denotes the symbol CTRL/R)
  19. ^P    print    repeat last message  (subsequent ^P's repeat earlier messages)

  21. Game commands:
  22. a    apply, use  use something (a key, camera, etc.)
  23. c    call    give a name to a class of objects
  24. d    drop    drop an object. d7a: drop seven items of object a.
  25. e    eat    eat something
  26. i    invent    list the inventory (and shopping bill)
  27. p    pay    pay your bill
  28. q    drink    quaff a potion
  29. r    read    read a scroll
  30. s    search    search for secret doors, hidden traps and monsters
  31. t    throw    throw or shoot a weapon
  32. w    wield    wield a weapon    (w-  wield nothing)
  33. z    zap    zap a wand
  34. C    name    name an individual monster (e.g., baptize your dog)
  35. D    Drop    drop several things
  36. E    Engrave write a message in the dust on the floor  (E-  use fingers)
  37. P    wear    put on a ring
  38. R    remove    remove a ring
  39. T    remove    take off some armor
  40. W    wear    put on some armor
  41. <    up    go up the stairs
  42. >    down    go down the stairs
  43. ^    trap_id    identify a previously found trap
