Setting up a running AnalytiCalc disk
Several steps are needed to build a working disk. Follow the
procedure given (written assuming a two disk system with
DF0: and DF1: as floppies.)
1. Copy the distribution diskette and in the remainder, WORK
FROM THE COPY and KEEP THE ORIGINAL IN A SAFE PLACE.
2. Place the copy in DF1: and execute roughly the following
commands:
Delete AnalySources.Arc
Delete AnalyUtilSrc.Arc
; make some room
cd df1:AnalytiCalc
df1:arc -x df1:Analykeypad.Arc #?
Delete PCCHELP.SEQ
cd df1:
Delete AnalyKeypad.Arc
3. Now this disk can be used for AnalytiCalc by the commands
cd df1:AnalytiCalc
Analy
4. Make sure you have an Interlace screen (640 by 400 or more) BEFORE
you run AnalytiCalc. If necessary, go into Preferences and
select Interlace ON and SAVE, then reboot. If you try to run
AnalytiCalc on a 640 by 200 screen, you'll probably crash
your Amiga. In any event you won't succeed.
5. Setting up to use FACCII or using ADDBUFFERS on the disk you use
for AnalytiCalc is a good idea if you have enough memory.
6. Try answers No, ABC, 22, 22, 1, and 1 for the initial questions
that need answers in the lower window.
7. Now to finish preparations, copy AnalyDocuments.Arc somewhere
(e.g., to a blank diskette) along with ARC and type the
command
ARC -X AnalyDocuments.Arc #?
Then READ all the documents, at least once. Printing out at
least the cheat sheet (AnalytClc.Crd) is a good idea.
Once you've read the manual at least once, you're ready
to experiment.
8. Experiment and learn AnalytiCalc
9. Laugh at your leisure at anyone who spent big bucks paying for a
spreadsheet. Enjoy. Poke with the sources if you like.
10. The SSP disk may furnish additional routines which can be integrated
easily into this version of AnalytiCalc. See the release note
archive for the description of this.
