  1. These files are part of the C News distribution.

  3. The "grep" command comes from Steve Koren's SKsh, Version 1.5.
  4. "Acomp" is my version of the Unix compress(1x) program which uses
  5. dynamic instead of static memory for compression space.  "Read"
  6. is also my program; it reads one line of input and parses it, storing
  7. the result into the environment variables given on the command line
  8. (it works much the same as read in the Unix shell).

  10. The rest of the programs here came directly from the C News source,
  11. "canonhdr" prepares article headers for other scripts, "dbz" is the
  12. replacement for BSD's dbm(3M) package [warning: do not use dbz for
  13. other tasks until you've read the docs -- it is not general enough!],
  14. and "rnews" which recieves incoming news and stores it for later
  15. unbatching.
