  1. The main program in this directory is "expire" (and the program which invokes
  2. it, "DoExpire").  The "expire" program cleans old articles off your disk by
  3. examining a control file (default in DoExpire is "NewsCtl:expire/explist1";
  4. see also) and removing articles which fit the criteria given there.

  6. The other three programs are for administrative tasks.  They are further
  7. documented in the C News manual pages.
