  1. OBSTACLES
  2.  
  3. If, when you were helping yourself to a bus,
  4. some people were making a ludicrous fuss,
  5. saying "This isn't your bus, this one is for us",
  6. then what would you say?
  7. "Get out of my way!"
  8.  
  9. If, when you were driving it down the main road,
  10. you encountered a solemn and spherical toad,
  11. shouting : "No through road here : I'm inspecting this road",
  12. then what would you say?
  13. "Get out of my way!"
  14.  
  15. If, when you turned into the side road, you found
  16. that your brain was reduced to a mush by the sound
  17. of a farm dogs' convention from ten miles around,
  18. then would you complain,
  19. "They're dissolving my brain?"
  20.  
  21. If, when you got home,you saw Muffin and me
  22. perched up on the chimney-pot having our tea,
  23. with the last of the milk and the whole of the Brie,
  24. would you shout in reproof
  25. "Get down off my roof?"
  26.  
  27. If, when you unlocked and went in your front door
  28. you found a blue jellyfish sprawled on the floor
  29. wailing "Nothing has happened, my life is a bore",
  30. then what would you say?
  31. "GET OUT OF MY WAY!"
