  1. Thief Desktop Theme v1.2 for Windows 98

  4. 0. General description
  5.  
  6.     This Windows 98 desktop theme attempts to capture some of the
  7.     atmosphere and feel of the Looking Glass game "Thief - The Dark
  8.     Project" on your desktop.
  9.  
  10.     Includes desktop wallpaper, sound events, mouse pointers, icons and
  11.     colors. Font names and styles and font and window sizes have been
  12.     left at windows defaults. This theme does not include a screensaver.

  14.     This package (tht_s12.zip) is a stripped down version of the Thief
  15.     v1.2 desktop theme. The full package (tht_f12.zip) includes a longer
  16.     startup wav in full 16-bit stereo, the wallpaper in bmp format, 5
  17.     additional wallpapers in jpg format and lots of additional wavs.
  18.     tht_f11.zip totals over 9 megabytes. If you would like to have the

  21. 1. Installation

  23.     Extract all files into your "Plus!\Themes" directory with "use
  24.     folder names" checked (in winzip). After extraction there should be
  25.     a new theme, "Thief v1.2", in the Desktop Themes -list.

  27. 2. Resolutions & bit depths

  29.     This theme was designed for 1024x768x32 desktop and has not been
  30.     tested on any other resolutions or bit depths. Lower resolutions
  31.     will work, but the wallpaper is 1024x768, so if you use a lower
  32.     resolution, I recommend you change the wallpaper size to match your
  33.     desktop resolution with an image editing program such as Photoshop.
  34.     Without getting into too much detail I'll just mention here that
  35.     when windows up/downscales wallpapers to match screen resolution, it
  36.     does it the easy way and the result is not always very nice. This
  37.     theme should work on a 16-bit desktop, but 8-bit desktop probably
  38.     won't look too good even if it works.
