1. New Features since version 2.0
=================================
a. Support for Digital Video in DVI and Video for Windows format with
full support for window sizing and positioning. See the
"Digital Video" actions in the User's Guide.
b. Saving a "locked" file
If you want to distribute an MM-BOX presentation to other
users of MM-BOX, and you don't want these users to modify your
presentation, you can select the 'locked' check box in
the Save As... dialog.
c. Clicking the right mouse button, will clear the selection.
This will enable you to change the default font, paragraph
and color settings with the Font, Paragraph and Color Tray
palettes respectively.
d. Pressing the F11 function key, will place the MM-BOX window
at the center of the screen.
e. Pressing the Ctrl+F2 will display a list of the "visited" pages
and will let you choose a page to go to from a list box.
f. Positioning the animation:
In the Animation dialog box, a new button is available
labelled 'Set Position'. Use this button if you want to place
the animation in any of the four corners of the MM-BOX window,
or in any other location. When not choosing the position, the
animation will play centered on the screen.
You can choose the pre-selected positions Top-Left, Top-Right,
Bottom-Left or Bottom-Right, or you can specify the X and Y
coordinated where you want the animation to play. This X and Y
values has to be specified in pixels. X=0 and Y=0 is the top-left
corner of the MM-BOX window.
g. Scale
You can now scale any element by selecting the "Scale" command
from the Edit Menu.
h. Rotate
You can now rotate Polygon and Line elements by selecting the
"Rotate" command from the Edit Menu.
i. New icon bars
For your convenience, two icon bars have been added. You can
display these icon bars by selecting them from the Palettes Menu
Elements Icon Bar:
Displays a ToolBox with the different MM-BOX
elements. Can be used instead of Double-Click
Quick Menu Icon Bar:
Displays a ToolBox with the different Palettes
j. Charts
Charts can be added to MM-BOX productions. Select the command
Chart from the Palettes Menu. Refer to the CHART Palette in
the User's Guide.
k. Check Page
Pages now can be checked for consistency and automatic removal of
non-existing elements from elements and page action lists.
The Check Page command is available in the Page menu.
l. Time-Out actions
A new Page action is now available to trigger events on Time-out.
Refer to the User's Guide "Page Actions" and "TIMER Actions" for
more information.
2. Video Overlay Boards support
================================
a. MM-Video or any PCVIDEO based video overly board
- The directory for MM-Video should be in the
PATH statement of your AUTOEXEC.BAT.
- Make sure that the PCVIDEO.INI is located in the
\WINDOWS directory
b. VideoLogic DVA-4000 (MIC 3.2 or latter, MIC II will be
supported in next release)
- Make sure that MICDLL.DLL is the the Windows Directory
- You must initialize the DVA-4000 PRIOR of loading
Windows. Use the following batch file:

- If Windows refuses to load due to lack of memory you
can remove the "mic-bm /64" line in the batch file.
You will then not be able to load "VideoPictures",
but you still can use any of the live video actions
3. Notes for Windows 3.0 users
==============================
MM-BOX 2.1 needs Windows 3.1 or latter and will NOT work with
Windows 3.0 with Multimedia Extensions.
4. Video for Windows Runtime
============================
The Video for Windows runtime is included in the CD-ROM directory named
\VFW. In that directory there are also one or more examples of Video
for Windows clips:
WLIFE1.AVI, a 10 second B&W clip form the movie
"It's a wonderful life". This movie in in the public domain. Downloaded
from Compuserve. (Uploaded by UID 75530,3711)
FUNPLA.AVI, a full colour clip of a sequence from the space shuttle
mission from the Microsoft Sample disk.

The inclusion of ther Video for Windows runtime does not license you to
re-distruibute the runtime files. To create your own AVI files and to
distribute the runtime with you application you will need to purchase
a copy of Video for Windows.

5. Notes on the MMB to TBK converter
====================================
To convert MM-BOX files to Toolbook (MMB => TBK) is advisable to have
the MMB file in the same directory were the MM-BOX executables are
located and that you have enough local memory to perform the task. Make
sure that no other application is running while converting files.
6. MM-BOX Introduction Demo
============================
You can choose to install the MM-BOX Introduction demo from the Setup
procedure. Make sure that you choose the default directory ( \MM-BOX2 ).
The demo will NOT run if installed in any other directory.
The demo occupies 12 Mbytes of disk space.
